The Foundations of Appropriate Workplace Behaviour

All workplaces have a set of social norms and rules which need to be followed to ensure positive and productive relationships within the workplace.

Course Overview

During this workshop you will learn what behaviours are essential for creating a healthy, functional workplace and how to communicate them.  

What this workshop covers

Participants will learn how to:

 

  • Understand the foundations of positive workplace behaviours (civility).  
  • Recognise the behavioural indicators of healthy vs unhealthy workplace behaviours.  
  • Understand the cost of negative workplace behaviours.  
  • Recognise the boundaries of acceptable vs unacceptable behaviours and how to manage any grey areas.  
  • Learn practical ways of practicing workplace etiquette that demonstrates respect, rapport, and diversity.  
  • Learn skills for diagnosing the causes behind uncivil workplace behaviour.  
  • Learn how to disagree respectfully, resolve conflicts, and share different viewpoints in a healthy and productive manner.  
  • Understand the importance empathy and learn to start afresh after significant issues.  
  • Understand the important role everyone plays in creating a healthy workplace.  
  • Understand what support and resources are available (EAP).
